Seminar on the Use of ICT in the Communication of Cultural Heritage

A total of 14 people participated in the Seminar representing the following institutions: The Royal Library, The Music Museum under the National Museum, The National Museum, The Copenhagen Museum, Newcomers under the State and University Library, The State and University Library, Odense Library, Heritage Agency of Denmark, and The Danish Agency for Library and Media. The agenda and invitation for the Seminar was created in collaboration with Jakob Heide Petersen, Director of the Department of Libraries at the Danish Agency for Libraries and Media.

MeLa project start

MeLa – ‘European Museums and Libraries in/of the Age of Migration’

Today, March 1, 2011, finally, after a long preparation process MeLa research project takes off.

The Project, moving from the FP7 European Call “Reinterpreting Europe’s cultural heritage: toward the 21st century library and museum?”, intends to investigate the traditional idea of museums and libraries as places of consolidation, conservation and transmission of the identity of a dominant social group. In order to define new strategies for the multi-inter-transcultural organization of the conservation, exhibition and transmission of knowledge, in ways and forms that are capable of reflecting the conditions posed by the migration of people and ideas in the global world and its influences on the European Union process during last 30 years, the MeLa Consortium has structured a Research programme articulated in 10 workpackages and related sub-taks.
